Commonwealth v. T.G., Suffolk Superior Court

The Boston Police Department arrested the defendant for allegedly possessing and then knowingly handing over a gun to the co-defendant who attempted to shoot at his ex-girlfriend.  The co-defendant missed his target, however, and the shot a man who was standing nearby, shattering his jaw.

For his role, the defendant was indicted by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office on charges of Armed Assault to Murder, Aggravated Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Carrying a Firearm, 2nd Offense.  He was also indicted as an Armed Career Criminal, Level 3 (meaning if convicted, he could receive no less than 15 years in state prison).

After a lengthy trial, Attorney Travayiakis was successful in discrediting key prosecution witnesses and seriously calling into question the prosecutor's theory of the case.

The defendant was found NOT GUILTY of all charges, and after waiting over a year for trial, was released from custody that same day.
